I also agree. Those early tracks that Tammi did for Scepter/Wand, along
with those she recorded for James Brown, are all outstanding. Along
with her Motown work, they demonstrate just how versatile a singer she
was. Sadly, I doubt there are few if any more "undiscovered" Tammi
recordings out there, but would love to be proved wrong! I just ordered
Cellarful of Motown vol. 2, so I'll FINALLY get to hear her previously
unreleased (at least officially) recording of "My Heart".
I have no doubt that Tammi would have been a huge success as a solo
artist. Sadly, I think that to achieve that success she would have had
to leave Motown, as the company just didn't seem interested in giving
her the attention and promotion she deserved.

I do know that she would have been huge! There have been so many solo tracks
come to light the last few years, they clearly show that Tammi had the stuff
that superstars are made of. Has anyone ever heard the solo Tammi tracks that
were featured on Tammi Terrell/Chuck Jackson "The Early Show" Lp? Tammi was 15
or 16 years old at the time these songs were recorded and they are awesome!
Tammi had it goin' on! Randy
