Hi Ladia,

I've often wondered how Tammi would adapt to the later musical trends
(such as disco). Given her great versatility, I've no doubt she would
have been successful. Although she probably would have had to eventually
break away from Motown, as (unfortunately), her solo career wasn't one
of Berry Gordy's top priorities. As brilliant as her Motown output is,
I've always maintained that in order to fully appreciate Tammi's musical
abilities, one has to also hear her pre-Motown work. A shame that it
isn't more readily available--something a career-spanning anthology
would easily remedy.
